about the bush tax cuts that are being extended permanently. number one in order to pay for healthcare reform some people are seeing their dividends tax on dividends go up starting today just over 3 percentage point increase. payroll tax cut that had been on the books for the last couple of years expired yesterday. that is not part of this deal. many of the viewers will see that i payroll taxes go up starting today. so in the pay checks moving forward those are going go up. the other thing that is important to look at is when congressman sandy levin was saying this is all part of the president's balanced approach which the president has talked about again and again over the last year or so, that means tax increases, the president was direct and on oest with the american people about that we note. but he also talked about spending cuts. and in this case, this deal is $620 billion in tax increases and yet about a net of about $15 billion in spending cuts. that is obviously not balanced. now, the white house view is the president was willing to have balance and had $1.2 trillion in spendi
